Black Maria Film and Video Festival

Named for the tar paper-covered studio built by Thomas Edison in 1893, this legendary annual film festival has been advocating, exhibiting and rewarding cutting-edge, independent film and video art since 1980. The festival is known for its international juried competition, as well as its national touring program, which features a variety of bold, contemporary works picked from award-winning entries. As is our tradition, Black Maria’s founder, John Columbus, will present the films in person.
