Three Rivers Film Festival
GENERAL 3RFF INFORMATION

The 2011 Three Rivers Film Festival, presented by Pittsburgh Filmmakers and Dollar Bank, runs November 4 – 19. Celebrating its 30th year, the festival is one of the most eagerly awaited events in Pittsburgh, featuring independent American cinema, new documentaries and critically-acclaimed international films. There are visiting filmmakers, informal discussions, live music, parties and more. The venues are the Harris Theater, the Melwood Screening Room, and the Regent Square Theater.
On November 4 three films open at three separate locations, with a birthday party to follow at Pittsburgh Filmmakers' Oakland location, 477 Melwood Ave.
This year the Opening Night Party is a big Birthday Bash. Not only is the Three Rivers Film Festival 30 years old, but Pittsburgh Filmmakers is 40 years old. The celebration begins at 9:00 pm. Opening Night tickets are $15 and include a choice of opening night film, a festive party with live music by the local band Colonizing the Cosmos, food (including outdoor grilling), drinks, birthday cake and a champagne toast!.

TICKETING INFO

Opening and Closing Night Tickets are $15, they are onsale at ProArts by phone (412-394-3353); or at their website: ProArtsTickets.org.
Single Tickets are $9.
Single tickets for regular festival films are only sold at the door, beginning one half-hour before showtime.
The Six-Pack Pass is $45 (good for six admissions). These are on sale now at all three theaters, and at the front desk at Filmmakers. Please Note: Six Packs are only good for $9 admissions and can not be used for $15 special event tickets including Opening/Closing Night films.
Special Event Tickets are the only tickets that can be purchased in advance through ProArts; they are also available at the theater box offices, one half-hour before these events. ($15 Special Events include: Opening and Closing Night films, Joanna with reception and the director and The Encore of Tony Duran; —$9 Special Events include: The Adventures of Prince Achmed, Steeltown Film Factory, Film Kitchen screening Fallingwater, Not Just for Kids program with Alloy Orchestra and the Competitive Shorts Program with the reception.) No phone orders or advanced sale tickets are being taken at Pittsburgh Filmmakers offices. Six-pack passes can be purchased in person at the front desk, during regular business hours, and at our theaters, during a screening.
OPENING NIGHT

A Dangerous Method

The Regent Square Theater offers a sneak preview of David Cronenberg's new film, A Dangerous Method, which recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. It's a drama about the early days of psychoanalysis. It stars Viggo Mortenson, Michael Fassbender and Keira Knightley.
Farmageddon

At The Harris Theater is Farmageddon, the inspirational story of a growing grass roots effort to establish rights for local farming. The director is scheduled to present the film in person.
Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles

At The Melwood Screening Room is Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles, a documentary about the hundreds of bizarre tiles embedded in city streets across the country. The director is scheduled to present the film in person.
Opening Night Party

Live music by the local band Colonizing the Cosmos, food (including outdoor grilling), drinks, birthday cake and a champagne toast!.
